Eligibility for Higher Education

Bachelor's Degree:

  • 12 years of education is required for entry in a Bachelors program in Germany. Some universities need 13 years of education.
  • This can be achieved by successfully completing the first year of a Bachelors program from a recognized university in India in the relevant subject field.

OR

  • Successfully completing a Foundation year at a university in Germany to compensate for the 13th year of education.
  • Academic percentage – Minimum 60% & above in 12th
  • IELTS – Overall 6.5 with no band less than 6

Master's Degree:

  • Academic percentage: Min 60-65% in Bachelor’s is required
  • IELTS – Overall 6.5 with no band less than 6
  • German language skills may not always be a mandatory requirement for admission, it is highly recommended to achieve at least a basic level of proficiency (A1 or A2). Many universities now expect candidates to have a minimum of A1 level German. Candidates with German language skills generally have a better chance of securing admission compared to those without any knowledge of
  • The GRE is required for admission to top-ranked universities, with a score of 310+ considered competitive. For certain programs, especially in fields like Automobile and Mechanical Engineering, the GRE is a mandatory requirement at high-ranking universities.

Documents Required for Germany Student Visa

  • Valid passport (issued within the last 10 years and with at least 12 months validity left after the scheduled return)
  • Application form & declarations duly signed
  • 1 copy of your passport’s data page (A4 size copy)
  • 3 passport pictures according to biometric specifications
  • Cover letter from applicant explaining the exact purpose and duration of stay
  • Letter of admission from German university (electronic version)
  • Proof of payment of study fees (1 year mandatory)
  • Proof of other academic qualifications, if applicable
  • Proof of financial means to cover the costs for the time of your studies (Blocked Account for Living expenses and saving or FD or Education loan for balance complete tuition fees)
  • Health insurance will be provided as complimentary with the Blocked Account
  • Travel insurance covering the period from your departure to the date of enrolment at the university (Euro 30,000 coverage)

Duration & Tuition Fees

  • Master’s Program: Typically, 1-2 years
  • Bachelor’s Program: Usually 3 years
  • Tuition Fees: EUR 8,000 – 15,000 per year (Note: This fee does not include living and accommodation costs.)

Embassy fees:

VISA fee of 75 Euros at present (subject to change) to be submitted through Cash or Demand Draft at the time of VISA interview
